Gimp is a braided trim that can add an attractive detail to a variety of projects. In upholstering, gimp is used to hide the raw edges of fabric. Gimp can also be added to the edge of a lampshade, roller blind or to decorate a cushion. Double piping, is one piece of trim that looks like two rows of piping close together. It's a common finishing element in upholstery and is often used to hide staples and the raw edges of fabric where the fabric meets the chair frame. A braid will enhance and embellish curtains, upholstery and other soft furnishings.
